It's the big one!

The 85th Ayala Invitational Tournament will be held on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th January. Our three greens will be graced by bowlers from far and wide - 36 teams will participate in this historic competition which has taken place every year since 1927. Proudly sponsored over the past eight years by Personal Trust the Ayala is one of the most popular competitions in the Boland area drawing teams from as far afield as Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Invitations to participate are highly prized by the lucky few who make it into the draw.

Played over two days, 6 matches of 15 ends each, the competition is a strenuous test of bowling prowess and endurance, and the winners every year are worthy of the admiration of all lovers of the game.

Here are the winners of the 2011 Ayala, posing proudly with our generous tournament sponsor, Mark Gibbs (centre):

  • From L to R:   Gert Burger (lead), Walter Oosthuizen (2nd), Roley Maggott (skip), Gert Bruwer (3rd).
